The band will release their long awaited fourth studio album ‘Splid’, on 14th February 2020. The record will be the first from Kvelertak since 2016’s ‘Nattesferd’ and is their first album featuring new singer, Ivar Nikolaisen, who joined the group back in 2018.

Kvelertak comment, ‘Splid’ (‘discord’ in English) is a deep dive into western gluttony, our own stupidity, and the abyss of the earth.” Known for previous albums being entirely in Norwegian, Splid includes two tracks in English

The album was recorded with Kurt Ballou (Converge, Code Orange, Zeal & Ardor, Every Time I Die, Dillinger Escape Plan, High On Fire) at Godcity Studio in Salem, Massachusetts.

Such extreme vitality has defined Kvelertak since their self-titled 2010 debut. It also transferred to a growing cult of fans. The second album, Meir, crashed Rolling Stone’s “20 Best Metal Albums of 2013” at #2. In addition to racking up over 50 million career streams thus far, rock icon Dave Grohl personally presented them a gold plaque for their debut album, and they took home two Spellemannprisen Awards (Norway’s equivalent of the GRAMMYS®), including “Best Newcomer” and “Best Rock Band.”

Everyone from MetallicaSlayer, and Anthrax to Ghost and Gojira handpicked them for tours, and not to mention their biggest fan, Norway’s heir to the throneCrown Prince Haakon of Norway

Kvelertak will embark on a huge European tour in support of Splid in Spring 2020, including three very special UK dates and a live session at the world famous Maida Vale studios for the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show:
