ALTER BRIDGE – ‘IN THE DEEP’ // Sublime latest track ahead of new album and UK arena tour!

Written by on 12th September 2019

In The Deep is the sublime latest track to drop from Alter Bridge’s highly anticipated upcoming new album, Walk the Sky

Walk the Sky is Alter Bridge’s sixth studio album, and is set for release on 18th October 2019 via Napalm Records, and was once again produced by long-time collaborator and the much revered Michael ‘Elvis’ Baskette

“It feels like an uplifting record to me, especially from a lyrical standpoint,” says vocalist Myles Kennedy. “Musically, the songs are shorter with crystallized arrangements instead of the epic journeys we’ve embarked on in the past. Not that there is anything wrong with epics, but it was time to mix things up. In many ways, Walk The Sky is essentially the spiritual follow-up to AB III. That record was very dark with echoes of spiritual disillusionment throughout. That time in my life was an important part of my journey—a journey that has continued for decades and ultimately brought me to where I am now. The new music is a sonic manifestation of someone who has a better understanding of where he fits in the universe and how to interact with it.”

Lead single Wouldn’t You Rather saw huge radio support from the like of Metal Meyhem Radio (A-list), Planet Rock Radio (A-list), Kerrang Radio (A-list), BBC Radio 2’s Rock Show, Primordial Radio, Total Rock Radio and dozens of regional ILRs, including BBC regional shows

Previous album, 2016’s The Last Hero, scored the band’s third consecutive UK Top 10 album, landing in the main UK charts at #3 (in addition to crashing America’s  Billboard Top 200 at #8), with UK press full of support for the LP – MOJO – 4/5, Total Guitar – 4/5, Kerrang – KKKK, Powerplay – 10/10

Having hit Gold certification in America with debut album One Day RemainsAlter Bridge are no strangers to awards from the BPI – three out of their five albums have hit silver status (60,000+ sales) in the UK, Blackbird, AB III and Fortress
