JAMIE LENMAN announces his ‘Shuffle’ UK headline tour

Releases new single+video for his cover of The Beatles classic ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’

JAMIE LENMAN has today announced a full UK headline tour to take his recent ‘Shuffle‘ album out on the road. The dates will run from November 5th through to November 30th, and they go on sale on Thursday at 10am.

“I think this is my biggest solo tour ever and I’m thrilled to bits about it. We’re going back to some places I haven’t been in over a decade, lots of new venues and hopefully lots of new friends. I’m really really looking forward to taking a deeper dive into Shuffle now everyone’s had a bit of time to digest it and bring some deeper cuts into the set. But obviously there’ll be a generous helping of old faves in there too, and maybe a couple of surprises!”

Jamie has also released a brand new video for his cover of The Beatles classic ‘Tomorrow Never Knows‘, which opens up ‘Shuffle‘ and has been a stand out track in fans reaction to the release.

Tomorrow Never Knows really sets out the store of the record in one go – it’s basically the title track, even though it’s not called ‘Shuffle’. I wanted it to be a nice surprise for people who had bought the album, putting it on for the first time, but now the secret’s out I’m happy for it to act as a little taster for the main thing and I can’t wait to play it on this upcoming tour.”

Following on from his debut solo double album ‘Muscle Memory‘ in 2013 and the highly acclaimed ‘Devolver‘ album from 2016, ‘Shuffle‘ is another huge step forward for ex-Reuben front man JAMIE LENMAN and again will do away with any notion he has settled comfortably into a ‘sound’ or style as a solo artist.

At its very heart, ‘Shuffle‘ is a covers (or reinterpretations) album, one where the listener can go on a ‘shuffle’ journey of their own, through all media – music, movies, books, games, cartoons. Every now and then the ‘shuffle’ will throw a curveball and maybe the listener skips it, or maybe they keep listening and it becomes their favourite. Like ‘Devolver‘, producer Space (Idles, Black Futures) returns and helps Jamie realise his hugely ambitious artistic vision for ‘Shuffle‘, a record LONG in the making.

The album is also not limited to reimagined songs – Jamie has covered television themes, film scores, and the music from his favourite video game. It’s not even limited to music – there is a cover of a chapter from his favourite book and a scene from his favourite short film, in his debut acting performance alongside his favourite actor. “For me, this album has been a dream come true – total creative freedom, a chance to push myself into terrifying new territories. There are so many parts of it that I still can’t believe we actually managed to achieve, from singing in ancient languages to acting with one of my heroes and so much more besides. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

Following his recent support tours with Biffy Clyro, Marmozets and Tonight Alive, as well as appearance at last years Download Festival (UK), Reeperbahn (Germany), Boomtown and ArcTanGent festivals, this year JAMIE LENMAN headlined his own stage/mini festival at 2000trees Festival as ‘Lenmania II’. He will also be touring with Black Peaks across Europe, including 2 weeks in Germany.

JAMIE LENMAN has already performed at this years Glastonbury Festival, ArcTanGent Festival (fronting for Black Peaks whilst singer Will Gardner takes some time off) and Terbur Festival in Germany, AND headlined stages at Live At Leeds, Bad Pond, Handmade Festival and Smithdown Festival.
