?"We are a ragtag bunch of 20 somethings who love to play music, love to drink and love to have fun"?

Small Town Silence started as a band in 2011 after Andy Moore and Scott Burchfield became flat mates and would jam together, fusing Andy's song writing ability and Scott's lead guitar playing...

After a year or so had passed they met Antonia Toomey at Pride in Brighton and when we realised she was a bassist all that was needed was a drummer...

Wozza from Without Warning was the first person they tried but alas it was not meant to be, but eventually after a random jam session they found that Ant Mascia could drum quite well, (even though he has been a bassist for years for Deffret/Seizure Salad and Tellurium) so they invited him to an audition to learn their songs, only one day before their first gig! But Ant held his own surprisingly well and since then Small Town Silence have all improved vastly as musicians.

Small Town Silence write original songs that are grunge/blues/southern/alternative rock based. They are usually written initially by Andy Moore on acoustic guitar and providing it's lively enough it is presented to the band and they add their own presence to them, (bass, drums, licks, solo's, back-up vocals, structure ideas etc.) making a truly unique sound that is being refined all the time.

The frontman and song-writer Andy Moore has recently won a competition for his penmanship, and his poem "A Town of Hope" will be featured in a prestigious book available shortly.

Although no official awards for the band so far, Small Town Silence are still relatively new to the game. They have however played various venues down south, recorded an E.P. and a single, built up a very loyal fanbase and continue to break their balls trying to break the world of music.

?Influences include Nirvana, Audioslave, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Lynard Skynard, Blaze Foley, David Bowie, The Black Keys, Bob Dylan, Foo Fighters, R. L. Burnside, Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Metallica, The White Stripes, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, REM, Counting Crows, Gary Clark Jr, Snow Patrol, Bill Withers, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Queens of the Stone Age, and many more.
