The time has finally arrived!

One of the most anticipated albums in the Puerto Rican rock scene has been released. The album "Rise," by A Million Souls, is the creation of singersongwriter and musician Giovanni “Giova” Martínez.

After more than 16 years playing every possible venue on the island as the frontman for several rock cover and tribute bands such as Tool, Alice in Chains, Slipknot, A Perfect Circle among others and also recording the vocals of some songs for Ramón Ortíz’s (guitarrist from Puya and Ankla) new album "Ortíz" it was just the perfect time for Giovanni to express his own ideas, making use of his studies in music along with all the musical influences gathered from all these years.

Although Giovanni's formation is in classical music, his passion has always been rock. "The process of making this album was not an easy one, it took more than two years to finish it, but it has been an awesome experience." Giovanni wrote the lyrics and the music for all the songs except for one cover song written by Depeche Mode.

Music producer and sound engineer Alexis Pérez helped put all the pieces together, giving it a great organic and solid sound. He also recorded most of the guitar work in this production. Other great and talented musicians featured in the album are: Ramón Ortíz (Puya/Ankla/Ortíz)guitar, Miguel Tito Rodríguez (Sol D' Menta) guitar/ violin, Gaby Vera-guitar, Ivan Santiago-bass, Rafael "Joey" González and Josian Pérez on drums.

A Million Souls’ music is the combination of Alternative Metal and electronica . A Million Souls combines influences from bands like: Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Alice in Chains, and Pendulum among others.
